YAKIMA - Moses Lake bowling coach Billy Brice doesn't remember any team ever going through the Central Washington League season with an 18-0 record.

He will now. The Chiefs finished off a remarkable regular-season run with a relatively easy victory over the Davis Pirates on Tuesday.

"The girls bowled really good, with a lot of confidence," Brice said. "It was just a sight to see and I'm very, very proud of them."

Moses Lake started quickly with a 952-776 win in the first of a two-game scratch series. Michelle Reynolds, who has been on a late-season surge, led the Chiefs with a 226. Shanice Brice bowled a 220, followed by Amanda Strelzcyzk (193), Virginia Valdez (159) and Sandy Smith (154).

The Chiefs moved onto the cusp of victory by sweeping the scratch series, 925-833. Strelzcyzk rolled a team-high 213, with Reynolds at 209, Smith at 188, Valdez at 162 and Brice at 156.

Moses Lake clinched the team victory by opening the two-game Baker series. With a 162-151 win. Davis earned a 152-144 win to cap the day, but it wasn't enough to spoil the Chiefs' 18-0 mark.

The Chiefs begin regional tournament action next Tuesday at Richland's Atomic Lanes. Coach Brice was pleased with how his team finished and is heading into the postseason with momentum.

"The main goal, of course, is to quality and advance on to state," he said. "We'd like to keep our record intact, but we just want to advance on and make it to the big dance."

SOAP LAKE - In a non-league game on Tuesday night, the Tigers caught fire on offense in the second half, scoring 34 points to race by the host Eagles.

Odessa's James Glenn led all scorers with 17 points, one of three double-digit scorers for the Tigers (6-6 overall). Bryce Todd scored 12 points and Travis King added 10. Luke Palmer and Travis Todd also had solid contributions, scoring nine and eight points, respectively.

Soap Lake (2-9) took a brief lead in the second quarter before falling behind 25-19 at halftime. Taylor Baughman scored 14 points to pace the Eagles, while Kyler Moats added 10 and Daniel Coreas had seven.

Soap Lake returns to North Central League action on Friday, traveling to Bridgeport at 7:30 p.m. Odessa goes to Reardan for a Northeast League game on Friday at 7:30 p.m.

Lind-Ritzville 75, Valley Christian 22

SPOKANE VALLEY - The Broncos made short work of the Panthers in Northeast League action, bolting to a 27-8 lead after one quarter and never looking back.

Lind-Ritzville (12-3 overall, 8-3 league) got 20 points from Cory Whitmore, 14 from Matt Saetre and 13 from Jamie Stevenson in the win. The Broncos also played stellar defense, holding the Panthers scoreless in the third quarter to build a 63-14 advantage.

The Broncos host the Wilbur-Creston Wildcats in Ritzville on Friday, a 7:30 p.m. start. The game is important for playoff positioning, with Wilbur-Creston just two games back of Lind-Ritzville for third place.

Almira/Coulee-Hartline 72, Davenport 59

HARTLINE - The Warriors' offense exploded for their second-highest point total of the season, and ACH beat the visiting Gorillas for its third Northeast League victory.

Garrett Jess led all scorers with 25 points and Brandon Boutain scored 24 as ACH (4-10 overall, 3-7 league) put the game away with a 25-16 run in the fourth quarter. Kyle Tucker added 13 points for the Warriors.

ACH travels to Spangle on Friday, playing Liberty at 7:30 p.m.

Connell 55, Warden 37

WARDEN - Free-throw difficulties doomed the Cougars in South Central Athletic Conference East Division play against the visiting Eagles, a contender for the conference title.

Warden made just 10 of 22 from the charity stripe, negating a couple solid stretches and allowing Connell to pull away in the fourth quarter.

"We were down two at halftime and we had it tied early in the third," Cougars head coach Wes Richins said, "and then they went on a nice 10-point run."

Kevin Whitaker and Ben Bisnett each had eight points to lead Warden, with Whitaker grabbing 10 rebounds.

The Cougars (1-12 overall, 0-5 league) don't have it any easier on Friday, traveling to top-ranked River View at 7:30 p.m.

Mansfield 46, Wilson Creek 45

WILSON CREEK - The Devils had a one-point lead with nine seconds to go, but the Kernels sunk a last-second shot to pull out a North Central League victory.

Mansfield used a 16-9 run in the second quarter and led 38-28 heading to the fourth, but Wilson Creek (4-5 overall, 0-2 league) scored 17 of the next 25 points and had the Kernels on the ropes.

Daniel Thiesfeld scored 13 points to pace the Devils. Kevin Trepanier and Jacob Treat each scored eight and Phillip Fuget added seven. But the first 24 minutes negated the Devils' strong finish.

"We started pretty slow," Wilson Creek head coach Keith Jensen said. "I thought we were pretty lethargic for three quarters."

The Devils will try to get into the league win column on Friday at Entiat, a 7:30 p.m. start.

Girls basketball

Lind-Ritzville 52, Valley Christian 17

SPOKANE VALLEY - The Lady Broncos didn't have a single double-digit scorer, but a balanced offensive attack was more than enough to overwhelm the Panthers in a Northeast League game.

Lind-Ritzville (12-3 overall, 9-2 league) led 21-0 after one quarter and 41-2 at halftime. Devon Killian was the high scorer with nine points. Katlin Fowles and Emmy Bouwman had eight points apiece, and five other players netted at least four.

The Broncos host Wilbur-Creston on Friday at 6 p.m.

Connell 57, Warden 41

WARDEN - The Lady Cougars hung tough with the powerhouse Eagles, but couldn't get over the hump in Tuesday's SCAC East meeting.

"We played really hard for a while," Warden head coach Todd Kisler said, noting that the Cougars hit 19 of 22 free throws, their best outing in a long time.

"They were just a lot deeper and taller, and we kind of got outhorsed at the end," Kisler added. "If we can make our runs last a little longer, we can hang with them."

Kelsey Garner paced Warden with 10 points. Kaitlyn Yamane added eight points, while Cassandra Kisler had six points and 10 rebounds. Connell's Debbie Molsbarger led all scorers with 15, and Eva Grassi added 12.

Warden, which dropped to 1-4 in conference play, travels to River View on Friday at 6 p.m.

Davenport 36, Almira/Coulee-Hartline 33

HARTLINE - A back-and-forth tussle between Northeast League rivals came down to the fourth quarter, where the visiting Gorillas earned an 8-5 edge and got the win.

Davenport led 12-8 after one quarter before ACH rallied to take a 20-16 halftime lead. The Gorillas went on another run in the third quarter and tied things up, 28-28 going to the fourth.

Breanna Martin led the Warriors (8-7 overall, 3-6 league) with nine points, and Sarah Gloyn added eight.

ACH visits Liberty on Friday at 6 p.m.
