Snowflakes fall at MAC craft event
MOSES LAKE - More snow formed in town over the weekend, as children created snowflakes from craft supplies at the Moses Lake Museum and Art Center Saturday.
The activity was part of the MAC's Free Family Saturday, an activity session held at the art center during which family-oriented crafts activities are held.
The art center's manager, Freya Hart, led the event, and said at one point the craft room was filled to the rafters with snowflake artists.
Hart said she is hoping the activity sessions can be ongoing, occurring the first Saturday of each month, attracting more participants and including larger crafts, such as pinatas.
Five-year-old Michael Chatterton busied himself with his crafts, while Tammy Chatterton said this is the perfect activity for him.
"He is in heaven," she said.
Michael got a ream of paper for Christmas and Tammy said he is constantly working with crafts at the house.
Tammy said ten-year-old Cody Pesta was helping her make snowflakes.
Pesta demonstrated how to properly fold the paper and make the cuts in order to create the perfect flake.
Judy Baker brought a group of children with her and said this is a great way for them to participate together in craft activities.
Hart said the museum is looking for sponsors to help with the Free Family Saturday events. For more information, contact the MAC at 509-766-9395.
