Earl William Patterson

Earl William Patterson, of Moses Lake, passed away on Thanksgiving night, Nov. 22, 2007, at the age of 74 among family and friends in Moses Lake.

Earl was born in Car Settlement, Mich., and spent his youth doing various jobs including carpentry and work as a stevedore in Alaska. Holding degrees in physics and mathematics, Earl was an engineer and manager at Boeing for most of his career. He raised his children in Bellevue, Wash. He loved to fish for salmon, trout, crabs and geoduck; hunt for deer, elk and geese; golf, play bridge and cards with many friends. He was a very lucky fisherman and caught a 60-pound king salmon in Seiku, Wash., when he was 71. Known for his intelligence and common sense, Earl was knowledgeable and helpful regarding finances, real estate, and construction projects. He was always willing to lend a helping hand.

Earl is survived by his wife of 47 years, Barbara Patterson. He is survived by his three children: Jeffrey (Jody) Patterson, Mark (Sherrie) Patterson, and Paige (Scott) Brewer. He has five grandchildren Janice (Patrick) Day, Jessica and Jacqueline Patterson, Sara Patterson and Cole Brewer. Earl's brothers and sister are John (Pat) Patterson, David Patterson and Lois Patterson. He also has two great grandsons Thomas and Ryan Day. He has loads of relatives in Michigan as both his father Nic Patterson and mother Katherine Sauser had immediate families of 11 and nine children, respectively. His family and friends will miss him very much.

Earl requested to not have a funeral but a party will be held in the spring in his memory.
