Request for Statements of Qualification for

Geotechnical Services

The City of Moses Lake requests Statements of Qualifications (SOQ's) for the following:

Geotechnical Engineering services as needed for various projects over the next two years with an option to extend annually for each of two more years.

SOQ's shall include, at a minimum, a listing of similar projects and resumes for the key people that will be involved with this work and a full sample report from similar projects. All work shall be done in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Washington State requirements, and shall be stamped by a Professional Engineer or a Professional Geologist licensed in the State of Washington.

The submittal is limited to 10 sheets (using both sides, or 20 pages total) plus the sample report from a recent project. Additional information may be included as an addenda, but will not be used for ranking firms. Please submit SOQ's to Mr. Gerry McFaul, PE, City of Moses Lake, P.O. Box 1579, Moses Lake, WA 98837. SOQ's must be received or postmarked by 5:00 p.m. March 10, 2008. He is available for questions at 509.766-9217.

and Public Hearing

Sage Point Elementary: Moses Lake School District submitted an application for site plan review on Feb. 19, 2008. The application was determined to be complete and ready for review on Feb. 20, 2008. The proposal is to construct a new public elementary school in the Public Zone at 4000 W. Peninsula Drive, Tract 46 of Battery Tracts, south of Hermit Road. The project has been determined to be consistent with the City's Comprehensive Plan, and the following development regulations are applicable to the project: Moses Lake Municipal Code (MLMC) Title 16: Buildings and Construction, Title 18: Zoning, and Title 20: Development Review Process.

The Planning Commission will conduct a public hearing on March 13, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers located at 401 Balsam Street. All interested persons are encouraged to attend and provide comment.

Written comments on this proposal will be accepted until 5:00 p.m. on the date of the public hearing. Persons who want to be informed of future actions, or the final decision, on this proposal should provide their name and address to the project planner. The final decision on this proposal will be made within 120 days of the date of the notice of completeness and may be appealed according to the City appeal provisions specified in MLMC 20.11, Appeals. ATTENTION: WARDEN AREA RESIDENTS

The Port of Warden (Grant County Port District #8) is seeking applicants for the position of COMMISSIONER. Any citizen of legal age that resides within the boundaries of the Port of Warden is eligible to hold this position. Letter of interest needs to be submitted to the Port (PO Box 841 - Warden, WA 98857) by March 17th, 2008, for consideration at the regular meeting at noon on March 18th, 2008. Depending on the number of applications an interview may scheduled that day or later. The successful applicant will be required to file a statement with the Washington State Public Disclosure Commission.
