Newspaper cites rising transportation

costs, low subscriber number

WENATCHEE - The Wenatchee World stops home delivery and single copy service to the Moses Lake area beginning March 1.

"We have very few subscribers in the Moses Lake area and with rising transportation costs, it no longer makes economic sense to deliver the newspaper to the community by our normal delivery deadlines," Circulation Director Ed Navarro wrote in a letter to subscribers.

The newspaper is asking readers to consider remaining as a subscriber by transferring to next-day, mail delivery.

"We regret the decision to discontinue home delivery service in the Moses Lake area, but the hard economics of the situation leave us no choice," Navarro wrote.
