Moses Lake's Noyes repeats as league's top player
MOSES LAKE - Moses Lake High School junior basketball star Carly Noyes, who led the Columbia Basin League 4A girls in scoring this season, earned a pair of honors from the league's coaches on Sunday.
Noyes, who led the league at 19.1 points per game, repeated as the CBL's Player of the Year, and also garnered the Defensive Player of the Year award. Noyes was a key component to a Chiefs team that won its first-ever CBL regular-season title and is battling for its first-ever state tournament berth.
Joining Noyes on the league's first team was freshman point guard Jordan Loera. Junior guard Kelly Sutherland was a second-team selection, while senior post Ann Noyes received an honorable mention nod.
Loera was a first-team choice for the all-defensive team alongside Carly Noyes, while Ann Noyes earned a second-team selection.
The boys' All-CBL teams were also announced on Sunday, with Moses Lake junior guard Josh Loera and senior post Michael Olaniyan garnering a second-team selection.
In South Central Athletic Conference East Division voting, Royal senior guard Michael Hebdon and Warden senior post Ben Bisnett made the boys' second team. On the girls' side, Royal junior post Tawnee Gonzales also got a second-team spot.
