Glenn Gaither Adams

Glenn Gaither Adams was bom Sept. 21, 1927, in Buhl, Idaho and died Feb. 14, 2008, in Moses Lake.

Glenn spent his early childhood in Crossville, Tennessee. He moved with his family to Boise, Idaho in 1937 where he finished his education. He joined the navy in 1944 and upon his discharge in 1946 he returned to Boise where he attended business college and worked construction for J.A. Turteling & Sons. He came to Washington in 1949 to work on the Columbia Basin Project, including the East Low Canal and the Chandler Canal in Prosser, Wash. He worked for 45 years as an operating engineer on projects throughout the northwest including Larson Air Force Base, Priest Rapids, Wanapum, Boundary and Grand Coulee Dams, retiring from there in 1993.

Glenn married Fon Jolley in 1954 at Moses Lake where they lived and raised their family. They moved to Electric City, Wash., in 1982 where they were part of the Grand Coulee area community until 2005 when they returned to Moses Lake.

Glenn is survived by his wife Fon at their home in Moses Lake, his son Bryan (Jeanne) Adams of Colbert, Wash., daughters Gayle (Jerry) Hendrickson, Rhonda (Terry) Melbye, and Robin White (Jon Trammel), all of Moses Lake. Other surviving family include his brother Venable Adams, sisters Bernice Kennedy, Maxine Webber and Tyke Carr, all of Boise, Idaho, Mary Jane Miller of Pacifica, Calif., Iris Housley of Bothell, Wash., and Jean Rosendahl of Spokane, Wash., grandchildren Heath (Teresa) Hendrickson, Tye (Rachel) Hendrickson, Justin (Amy) Serrano, Corey (Lori) Adams, Sara (Jim) Warner, Amanda (Chris) Egge, and Alison Melbye, eight great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and close family friend Gordon Huit.

He was preceded in death by his parents Gaither and Ova Adams and a brother Wayland. Glenn was a believer and faithful servant of our Lord Jesus Christ and a member of the Church of Christ in Moses Lake and Grand Coulee. He was a man of great conviction and character who was respected and loved by many people. He will be missed dearly. Well done good and faithful servant! Welcome home!

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 23 at 10:30 a.m. at the Moses Lake Church of Christ, 808 Sharon Ave.
