Cydnor L. Combs

Cydnor L. Combs was born in South Dakota to John W. and Audrey Combs. At age 3 his family moved to Winchester, Kan., where he graduated from Winchester High School in 1941.
Cydnor served in the U.S. Army where he was sent to school at Ft. Benning, Ga., and served in Europe on the Engineering Corp during WW II.
Cydnor married Barbara L. Nichols in Dayton, Wash., Oct. 8, 1947. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Barbara and their four children; Edward O. Combs of Moses Lake, Cydnor L. Combs Jr. of Moses Lake, Mary Jane Moore of Vancouver, Wash., and Carol Jean Kuhn of Oxford, N.Y., five granddaughters, Sherry J. Rodriguez, Serena A. Achurra, Tayna D. Robinson, Melinda S. Kuhn and Faith A. Moore, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, Cydnor's sister Dorothy J. Boeckner of Fairbury, Neb., and brother John W. Combs of Myrtle Point, Ore.
Cydnor moved to Moses Lake in December of 1956 to open a new Chevron service station. Cydnor served on the Moses Lake City Planning Commission for 12 years. Cydnor retired from Standard Oil Company after 35 years in April of 1981.
After retirement Cydnor enjoyed traveling by auto across the United States, Alaska and Canada sight-seeing and visiting old friends and family.
