| February 13, 2008 8:00 PM

MOSES LAKE - The Moses Lake School District professional development and curriculum committee is sponsoring a visit by Bruce Brown, a national authority on character development through sports.

Brown will be presenting a program entitled, "Role of Parents in Athletics" at the Big Bend Community College ATEC Building, rooms 1870 B-C, on Wednesday night from 7-8 p.m.

Brown's message will focus on a message from youth athletes to parents about how adults can help a child's athletic performance, create good memories and demonstrate respect from the perspective of young people.

Brown is a 35-year coaching veteran at all levels from elementary school through college. He has authored dozens of books and resources on coaching and character through his Proactive Coaching series. Brown has also received dozens of national awards, most recently from Cal Ripken Baseball, American Baseball Coaches and the Mike Krzyzewski Leadership and Service Award.
