ADAMS COUNTY - The Adams County Republican Party is supporting presidential candidate Sen. John McCain.

Adams County Republican Party Chair Bob Fuller said the Saturday caucus turnout had better attendance than previous years and was ripe with interesting discussion about the election and the direction of the party.

He said approximately 35 people turned out for the caucuses.

Fuller said 14 delegate votes went to McCain with Mike Huckabee and Congressman Ron Paul following.

He said there was no confusion among Republican voters concerning where and when the caucuses were. Fuller said the Republican Party ran informational advertisements in several area publications leading up to the event.

Fuller said information about how many delegates going to the county convention was not available yet. The numbers have not been tabulated.

When asked if he expected McCain to win Adams County, Fuller said he recalls the candidate being a front runner with the media. He said Huckabee and Paul also have strong supporters locally.
