Rent-A-Jock program has started

| February 7, 2008 8:00 PM

MOSES LAKE - Moses Lake High School has started its annual Rent-A-Jock program, and community members are invited to take advantage of the service until August.

Rent-A-Jock is designed to help student-athletes go to summer sports camps. The intent is for the students to give back to the community through some form of labor. Past student-athletes have shoveled snow, raked leaves, painted fences and houses, bucked hay, mowed lawns and many other jobs.

The program is available every Saturday until August, and many student-athletes are willing to work on holidays. Employers are asked to contribute $50 for three to five hours of work, and students understand they must complete the job in order to be paid.

Anyone interested in hiring a Moses Lake student-athlete may contact Greg Kittrell at 509-760-7150 or by e-mail at gkittrell@mlsd.wednet.edu.
