Martha Dopps

Martha Dopps, 85, of Othello, died Monday, Feb. 4, 2008, at the Avalon Care Center.

Martha was born on Feb. 22, 1922, in Lowry City, Mo., to Jessie and Elsie Perry.

She married Dan Dopps in December of 1941. They farmed in Outlook until moving to Othello in 1955, where they continued to farm until the death of her husband.

Martha had many passions in her life, she enjoyed traveling, playing cards at the senior center and taking care of her garden. She loved flowers, especially her Peonies. Her best times were spent with her family and she always looked forward to her visits with her great-granddaughters. Martha will be remembered by her family for the pride she had in keeping her yard and gardens looking nice at all times.

Martha was preceded in death by her husband Dan Dopps in 1965, a sister and three brothers. She is survived by her two sons Clifford (Sandy) Dopps of Othello and Tom (Joan) Dopps of Moses Lake, five grandchildren and three great-granddaughters.

There will be a time of visitation on Friday, Feb. 8, at Stevens Funeral Chapel, beginning at 4 p.m. and continuing until 7 p.m., and again Saturday, Feb. 9, beginning at 9:30 a.m. until the service. A celebration of her life will be held at Stevens Funeral Chapel on Saturday, Feb. 9, at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Bess Hampton Memorial Gardens.

Memorials are suggested to the Buddy Andrews Orthopedic Guild for Children's Hospital.
