| December 30, 2008 8:00 PM

Roxie Ann Jones Heard, our beloved daughter, sister and aunt, passed away peacefully at her home Thursday, Dec. 18, 2008.

Roxie was born Oct. 29, 1947, in Denison, Texas. She moved with her family to Moses Lake in 1950. She attended grade school and middle school in Moses Lake and graduated from Ephrata High School in 1966. She married Earl Heard in 1968.

Roxie wasn’t afraid to live her life the way she wanted. We admired her genuine ability to make everyone feel loved like family. Her own family will never forget her sense of humor and her little sneaky smile. She had a natural ability working with her crocheting and made many beautiful handmade doilies, house slippers and many other treasures. Canning and making salsa were among her other interests.

She worked at various jobs in Quincy, Ephrata and Moses Lake. Her last employment was at Lakeridge Retirement Home as a cook until ill heath forced her retirement.

She was preceded in death by her companion George (Darrel) Fear, her grandparents in Texas and her grandparents Jeff and Georgia Jones in Moses Lake, also her father Clarence L. Jones.

She leaves behind her mother, Joyce (Jones) Maslen, her brothers David R. Jones and Johnny S. Jones, her sister Mary E. Shipley and also her nieces Jordan Shipley and Casie Jones, and nephews Brody Shipley, Garrett Jones and Austen Jones, along with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Roxie was blessed with many friends that she cared for deeply, among them was her closest friend Vicky Hopperstad and her faithful dog Shadow.

Memorial services will be held at a later date. She will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends.
