Chiefs cancel trip to Cheney

MOSES LAKE — The Moses Lake Chiefs boys basketball team canceled their trip to the Cheney Blackhawk basketball tournament yesterday following inclement weather in Moses Lake.

The Chiefs also canceled their Columbia Basin Big Nine conference contest with the Hanford Falcons last night.

The make-up game with Hanford has not been rescheduled.

The Chiefs boys team intends to travel to the Cheney Blackhawk tournament today for the second day of competition, pending winter weather.

The Moses Lake girls basketball team is competing this week in the Auburn-Riverside Tournament in Auburn, Wash. The girls team successfully made the trip to Auburn before freezing rain hit the Columbia Basin, Moses Lake Athletic Director Loren Sandhop said in an e-mail.

The Moses Lake wrestling team successfully made their trip to Pendelton, Ore. to compete in the Bronco Round-Up tournament before freezing rain it the Columbia Basin, Sandhop said.
