Liquor license suspended at Othello business

| December 22, 2008 8:00 PM

OTHELLO — De Leon’s Gas and Groceries in Othello is not allowed to sell alcohol to anyone until Jan. 18.

The Washington State Liquor Control Board suspended the business’s license to sell alcohol for 30 days. The suspension began Friday and ends Jan. 18 at 10 a.m.

The liquor license was suspended because the store received three violations for selling alcohol to a minor over the past two years, according to the state board.

During a recent compliance check conducted by the Othello Police Department Dec. 5, the business was one of 10 businesses who refused to sell alcohol to a minor. During the compliance check, a minor entered the business and attempted to buy alcohol.
