Some Grant County dogs must be registered

GRANT COUNTY — Some unincorporated Grant County residents are required to register their dogs by Jan. 1.

The fee for a spayed or neutered dog is $5 and an unaltered dog costs $25, according to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office. Failure to license your dog can result in a fine of up to $190.

Residents living in Desert Aire, Larson Base Housing, Lakeview, Marine View Heights, Parker Springs, Sunland Estates, Pelican Pointe, Ridgeview Estates, Quail Springs, Grace Estates, Northridge Estates, Beverly and Grant County Fairgrounds are required to register their dogs.

Proof of rabies vaccination, spaying and neutering are required at the time of licensing.

People can register their animals at three locations:

• Grant County Sheriff’s Office Substation at 1274 Lowry Street in Moses Lake on Mondays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

• Grant County Sheriff’s Office at 35 C Street Northwest in Ephrata, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

• Grant County Sheriff’s Office Substation at 523 Desert Aire Dr. N. in Desert Aire, Mondays and Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to noon.
