| December 12, 2008 8:00 PM

KENNEWICK, Wash. — The Kennewick-based Tri-City Herald stopped delivering its newspaper to homes in the Columbia Basin on Dec. 1, according to a letter written to subscribers.

“Due to increasing distribution costs associated with carrier home delivery of your newspaper, we regret to inform you that Sunday, Nov. 30 will be the last issue delivered to your home by our independent contractor,” wrote the paper’s circulation director.
