Cable TV channels could change

| December 12, 2008 8:00 PM

MOSES LAKE — Television channels offered through Northland Cable Television will change Jan. 1.

“Northland Cable will discontinue carriage of KSTU (CW-Tacoma) and return KSKN (CW-Spokane) to the Moses Lake channel line-up,” Northland Cable Regional Manager Jon Ulrich stated in a letter to Moses Lake City Council Tuesday.

The television providers’ right to carry two other broadcast stations expires Dec. 31 and could lead to the loss of KHQ-TV and KIRO-TV, he noted.

“Northland is negotiating with these broadcast stations in an effort to ensure uninterrupted viewing,” Ulrich advised.

City Manager Joe Gavinski said the city has no control over the TV channels and the provider is merely required to notify the city of possible changes.
