Spokane man dies after Ephrata crash

EPHRATA — Ephrata police are investigating a fatal wreck involving a Spokane man.
Lucas S. Vanwinkle, 28, was pronounced dead at Samaritan Healthcare after he was involved in a wreck Saturday night in Ephrata.
He was traveling on state Route 282 between Nat Washington Way and Dodson Road when the 1993 Jeep Cherokee he was traveling in rolled, Ephrata police reported Monday. Vanwinkle was ejected approximately 15 feet from the vehicle after it left the road.
The state Department of Transportation arrived and closed part of the roadway.
It appears he was traveling alone and no other injuries were reported, police advised.
The Washington State Patrol and the Grant County Coroner’s Office are assisting Ephrata police with the investigation.
