Alfred LaMar Larsen

Alfred LaMar Larsen, who used the name LaMar, passed away in Eugene, Ore., Nov. 30, 2008, at the age of 67 from cancer.

He was born June 19, 1941, in Roosevelt, Utah, to DeVon and Isabelle (Mitchell) Larsen. He grew up in Moses Lake and graduated from Moses Lake High School. He married Patty Lee Grant June 3, 1989, in Cheshire, Ore. LaMar worked in the fabrication business.

He is survived by two sons, Stacy and Shannon Larsen of Tyler, Texas; a stepdaughter, Anne Ware of Junction City, Ore.; two stepsons, Michael and Steven Root of Eugene, Ore.; a grandson raised by him and Patty, Steven E. Root of Eugene, Ore.; 11 other grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A sister, Kathleen Rettke of Chicago, Ill., and a brother, Roger Larsen of Moses Lake, also survive him. He was preceded in death by a son, Troy Larsen, in 1994.

The Celebration of Life potluck will be Friday at Petersen Barn in Eugene from 1 p.m. to 4 pm. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements by Chapel Of Memories Funeral Home, Eugene, Ore.
