MOSES LAKE - The Salvation Army of Grant County is hosting their second-annual "Breakfast with Santa" Saturday morning.

The free breakfast is from 8 a.m. to noon at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. The church is located at 200 N. Dale Road in Moses Lake.

The breakfast is to say, "thank you" to families and veterans in Grant County for their support, Salvation Army Community Relations Director Joann Hosszu said. The free breakfast includes pancakes, sausage and a beverage.

There are also free pictures with Santa Claus planned, she said. Parents can bring their children to the church for the free photo but they must bring their own camera.

The most memorable part of last year's event was seeing a 3-day-old infant having its picture taken with Santa, Hosszu said.

"It was adorable," she said.

Children will also receive free traditional stockings from Santa filled with goodies including nuts and candies, she said.

The Salvation Army is accepting donations during the breakfast. If writing a check to the Salvation Army, be sure to write "Grant County" on the check to ensure the money stays local.

The donations go toward those in need who live in Grant County, she said. Generally, the Salvation Army assists families and individuals year-round with electric bills, food, clothes and shelter.

About 120 people attended last year's event, she said.

Last year the event was on a Friday morning but the group chose to move the breakfast to Saturday in an effort to include more people.

Reservations are not required.
