Mission Ridge to open Saturday

WENATCHEE - The Mission Ridge Ski and Board Resort is opening for the skiing and snow boarding season Saturday and Sunday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m officials said Thursday.

The winter season is young and Mission Ridge will have limited availability, said Director of Sales and Marketing Jerri Barkley.

"It is early in the season with limited terrain on Chair No. 1 and the Liberator Express," Barkley said. "Three trails covering 45 acres and 2,250 vertical feet are scheduled for the weekend."

While Mission Ridge is open with limited access, Barkley said the staff has worked hard to open the resort.

"The snow-making team has really done the heavy lifting to get the area open," Barkley said. "They have not missed an hour of production since Nov. 1."

Mission Ridge will open this weekend and the resort plans to resume operations Dec. 12 with weather permitting.
