Dead woman named, no cause of death
Waiting on lab results
MOSES LAKE - Authorities released the name of the woman found dead Tuesday in a Moses Lake home, where a man was killed with a pipe bomb in August.
The deceased is Heather Hurley Smith, 30, Moses Lake, Grant County Sheriff's Office Undersheriff John Turley stated.
A female friend located the victim on Tuesday in a state of undress in a bedroom at a home on North Stratford Road just outside of Moses Lake, according to Turley.
The victim's death was deemed suspicious by the sheriff's office and began an investigation with help from the Washington State Patrol Crime Lab.
Grant County Coroner Jerry Jasman performed an autopsy and confirmed the sheriff's office comments about the body lacking signs of trauma.
"After completion of the autopsy there were no lethal injuries found," Jasman stated. "The cause of death is pending toxicology results."
Toxicology tests can reveal illness and diseases but can take weeks to complete.
The sheriff's office reported Smith had an alleged history of drug use.
Turley said in a previous interview they believe Smith was a former girlfriend of Javier Martinez Adame, 53, Moses Lake, but did not elaborate on their relationship.
Adame was killed in the kitchen of the home when a pipe bomb detonated Aug. 3.
He said the preliminary investigation efforts are not providing a link between the victim's death and Adame's death.
"There's nothing that appears to be a connection," said Turley.
Ten hours before Adame died, William A. Walker, 69, Moses Lake, was murdered by a pipe bomb in his home workshop.
Local, state and federal law enforcement agencies continue to investigate the pipe bombings.
