Woman found dead in Moses Lake
MOSES LAKE - A 30-year-old Moses Lake woman was found dead in the Moses Lake home where Javier Martinez Adame, 53, died from a pipe bomb Aug. 3.
A female friend located the victim on Tuesday in a state of undress in a bedroom, according to Grant County Undersheriff John Turley.
The victim's death was deemed suspicious by the sheriff's office. After Grant County Coroner Jerry Jasmine confirmed the woman was dead, deputies kept investigators out of the house until the Washington State Patrol Crime Lab could arrive on Wednesday to gather evidence.
Turley said there were no apparent wounds on the victim and an autopsy was slated for today at the Forensic Institute at Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake to determine a cause of death.
The victim "has a history of drug use," which will be taken into consideration during the autopsy, said Turley. Lab test results for drugs and illnesses could take weeks to be determined.
Investigators found the electricity to the house was cut off on Monday and they suspect the home did not have an active heat source, according to the sheriff's office.
Turley said they believe the victim was a former girlfriend of Adame's, but did not elaborate on their relationship. He said preliminary investigation does not provide a link between the victim's death and Adame's death.
"There's nothing that appears to be a connection," said Turley.
Adame was killed by a pipe bomb in the kitchen of the same home on Aug. 3. The sheriff's office labeled his death as a murder. Ten hours earlier, William A. Walker, 69, Moses Lake, was also murdered by a pipe bomb in his home workshop.
Local, state and federal law enforcement agencies continue to investigate the pipe bombings.
