| August 26, 2008 9:00 PM

Paul Daniel Brimberry, 55, of Moses Lake, passed away on Monday, Aug. 18, 2008, at his home, following a battle with heart and kidney disease.

He was bom on Oct. 1, 1955, in Corona, Calif., to Paul W. and Naomi (Foresythe) Brimberry. Paul was the eldest of four children, with three younger sisters. He grew up and attended schools in Riverside, Calif., earning his GED, and later attended Big Bend Community College for one and a half years. He lived and worked in Hawaii, Tennessee, and Oregon, driving trucks and harvesters, as well as working in construction. In the late 70s Paul moved to Washington state, living in Ephrata and Moses Lake.

In 1980 he married Teri Hicks and they had two children, Arian and Ian. In 1988 Paul met Yolanda Hickok. They married in 1998 and had two children, Dylan and Maleena.

Paul enjoyed being a dad to his children, taking them places and playing video games with them. He also enjoyed the ocean, reading, fishing, camping, and cooking (especially chili). He had a great sense of humor as seen in his frequent good-natured teasing and joking. Paul was an avid Oakland Raiders fan, collecting all kinds of Raiders memorabilia.

In 2003, Paul became a follower of Christ just before his first heart surgery. He was a member of Ephrata First Baptist Church, helping as a sound tech during the morning worship service.

Paul is survived by his wife, Yolanda; his children, Ian Brimberry, Amber Brimberry, Dylan Brimberry, and Maleena Brimberry, all of Moses Lake; his stepchildren Chris Pierce of Portland, Ore., and Echo (Jackie) Freeman of Shelbyville, Tenn., and three stepgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his infant son, Arian.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 30 at 11 a.m. at Ephrata First Baptist Church, 327 C St. S.W. in Ephrata with Matt Tucker officiating. A luncheon will follow. Paul’s ashes will later be scattered at the same location as his son, Arian’s, in Depot Bay, Ore.

A special thank you to Paul’s medical caregivers Michelle Hansen ARNP (Columbia Basin Family Medicine), and Dr. Joseph Anzalone (Central Washington Hospital). Thanks also to the helpful staff at Central Washington Hospital and the Moses Lake Dialysis Center.

If desired, memorials may be made in Paul’s name to the Moses Lake Dialysis Center, 1545 S Pilgrim St., Moses Lake, WA 98837.
