NOTICE

Moses Lake- The Grant County Mosquito Control District #1 is continuing with its annual mosquito control services. The biological products Altosid A.L.L. and Bacillus thurningiensis israelensis (b.t.i) are being used this year in the aerial larviciding program. These products are applied to swamps or other standing water where mosquito larva are present.

The biological product Bacillus sphaericus or Temephos will be applied to sewer ponds and similar standing water high in organic matter.

Products with the active ingredients naled or synthetic pyrethroid will be used in the night time adulticiding program.

These control operations will be going through out the mosquito season, March to October. For more information contact the District office in Moses Lake at 765-7731.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON ASSESSMENT BY GRANT COUNTY MOSQUITO CONTROL DISTRICT #1 BOARD OF TRUSTEES

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the hearing will be held before the Board of Trustees of the Grant County Mosquito Control District #1 concerning the classification and aseessment of property within said District and that the assessment indicating individual assessment amounts determined according to the benefits derived by property within the District from the operation of the District shall be in the posession of the Board of Trustees and on file at the Assessor's Office, Grant County Court House, Ephrata, Washington, and that such assessment may be inspected at any time after the 30th day of September, 2008, durng the hours of 8:00 a.m., and 5:00 p.m.

That a hearing on said assessment will be held before the Board of Trustees of the Grant County Mosquito Control District #1 at the Grant County Mosquito Control District #1 Office, located at 11905 Road 4NE, Parcel #16, Moses Lake, Washington, on the 8th day of September, 2008, at the hour of 7:30 p.m. and at such other places and times as the hearing may be continued to, at which time any person may appear before the Board of Trustees. Sealed bids will be received at City Hall, 321 South Balsam, (P.O. Box 1579), Moses Lake, Washington 98837 until September 4, 2008, 10:00 a.m., for the above-named improvement. Said bids will be opened and publicly read at that time. All bids shall be received before said opening time in sealed envelopes with "DIVISION STREET ACTIVITY TRAIL" marked plainly thereon.

All bids shall be accompanied by a deposit in the form of a postal money order, cashier's check, or surety bond in an amount equal to 5 percent of the bid. Should the successful bidder fail to enter into a contract and/or to furnish a satisfactory contract bond within the time stated in the specifications, the deposit shall be forfeited to the City.

Copies of plans and specifications are on file at various construction councils and at City Hall and may be obtained for a non-refundable fee of $40.00 at the above address. Only bids from those who have purchased plans and specifications will be accepted per the special provisions.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This project consists of removing 290 square yards of concrete sidewalk, sawcutting 2,750 lineal feet of asphalt, removing 310 square yards of asphalt pavement, and 2,750 lineal feet of curb and gutter. The project also includes installing 2,750 lineal feet of curb, 1,190 square yards of concrete sidewalk, and 310 square yards of HMA patch. Five existing access ramps will be fitted with surface mounted detectable warning panels, and three access ramps and will be constructed including cast in place detectable warning panels. Project includes repairing four locations around the city on a lump sum basis for each location. Spot repairs will include various combinations of: removing and replacing curb, sawcutting, removing and patching asphalt, replacing and adjusting catch basin frames and grates, installing access ramps including detectible warning panels.

Estimated Project Cost: $150,000

The City Council reserves the right to reject any or all bids if such action is in the best interest of the City.
