MLBA to honor members, contributors on Aug. 22

MOSES LAKE - The Moses Lake Business Association will offer a barbecue to members and contributors on Aug. 22.

"We want to recognize our membership for contributions they're making as well as the Main Street contributors," said Marianne Bondi, the association's executive director.

People contributed to the association's downtown improvements through the business and operations tax incentive program, she said.

The program allows businesses to pay a portion to the association and receive a credit from the state, Bondi said.

The kiosk at Sinkiuse Square, new flowerpots and pole banners were some of the items paid for with the program, she said.

Association members and Main Street contributors receive two free tickets for the event. More tickets can be bought for $10 each. Tickets aren't available at the door.

If people are interested in becoming members and talk to association representatives before the event, they can buy tickets, she said.

People are asked to RSVP by Monday.
