Irma Rossell

Irma Rossell, 94, longtime Moses Lake resident, passed away Friday, Aug. 8, 2008, at Samaritan Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 12, at Kayser’s Chapel of Memories with Pastor Del McKenzie officiating. Interment will follow at Pioneer Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday until 7 p.m. Arrangements are in care of Kayser’s Chapel and Crematory, Moses Lake. Irma was born April 27, 1914, in Twining, Mich., daughter of the late William and Delia March. While growing up and living in Flint, Mich., she met Gerald C. Rossell and they were married on July 20, 1931. They continued to make their home in Flint until 1944 when they moved to Bremerton. Gerald went into the ministry and they organized the Church of God in Christ in Bremerton. They later moved to Ellensburg, to pastor at the North End Tabernacle Church. In the early 1950s they moved to Kennewick and there they pioneered the Kennewick Stone Church. In the late 1950s they moved back to Flint where they lived until moving to Moses Lake in 1969. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald in 1996.

She loved her family and had a way about making each family member feel special. She loved being a homemaker, cooking and canning and will be remembered for her great sense of humor.

She is survived by two sons and spouses, Joel R. and Vicki Rossell, Moses Lake, Jonathan R. and Marie Rossell, Tacoma, three daughters and spouses, Betty and Ric Johnson, Moses Lake, Janet M. and Mel Benavidez, Moses Lake, Rebecca S. and Joe Lizama, Tacoma, one sister, Evelyn Kitcher, Clio, Mich., 18 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A son, Jerry, three brothers and four sisters also preceded her in death.
