Roy L. Adams, 87, longtime Moses Lake resident, passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2008, at Lakeview Home Care in Moses Lake. Cremation arrangements are in care of Kayser’s Chapel & Crematory, Moses Lake. At his request there will be no services. Roy was born Jan. 20, 1921, in Hooper, Wash., to the late Ben and Ethel (Felch) Adams. He was raised and educated in Otis Orchards, graduating from Otis Orchards High School in 1940. On Aug. 24, 1941, he married his high school sweetheart, Norma White, in Cheney, Wash. They made their home in Waitts Lake, Wash., for a year before moving to Chewelah, Wash. In 1943 they returned to Otis Orchards where Roy took employment at the Alcoa Aluminum Company. During World War II, Roy was called to duty with the United States Marines in 1944 and served his country faithfully in Hawaii. During that time Norma moved to Frankfort, S.D., where she stayed with her family. Following Roy’s honorable discharge in 1946 they made their home in Frankfort until moving to Spokane in 1952. In 1953 they moved to Moses Lake where Roy went to work for Snyder Baking Company where he was known as “Snyder Rider Man.” He retired from Snyder’s Bakery and continued to make his home in Moses Lake. Norma passed away March 22, 1993. Roy was an active member of the Free & Accepted Masons for over 60 years. He also was a member of Moses Lake Elks Lodge and Moses Lake Moose Lodge. He was a volunteer member of the fire department, a little league coach and played ball on the town team. He is survived by his three children, Nancy (Barry) Queen of Moses Lake, Nikki Chance (Robert) Lawwill of Ft. Meyers, Fla. and Buck (Sharon) Adams of Heron, Mont., two half-sisters, Dale Hooker and Donna Parnell of Spokane, seven grandchildren, Kelly Queen of Bellingham, Wash., Stacey Queen (Chris) Campbell of Warden, Tim (Lori) Chance of Indiana, Kristine Chance of Ohio, Erica (Eric) Knight of Covington, Wash., Brandi Adams of Seattle and Jaime (Rob) Baie II of Pasco; 15 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
