Granger hosts Royal tennis teams

GRANGER- The Granger Spartans played host to the Royal Knights boys and girls in tennis match play on Monday.

In girls action, the Knights scored 3-2. Singles play saw Royal's Kelcy Jansen defeat Brenda Velasca 6-1, 6-0. Anna Dahlke of the Knights prevailed over Yasmin Sanchez 6-2, 6-0.

In doubles, Royal's Amber Christensen and Emily Hoelscher beat Brenda Padilla and Rosa Bojorquez 7-5, 6-3. The Knights' Breahna Weisser and Hollie Clouse fell to Emily Carpenter and Jahae Klarich 2-6, 1-6. Amy Martinez and Tonya Weber of Royal were defeated by Italia Mangavell and Sam Zapich 1-6, 2-6.

The Royal boys tied with a score of 2-2. Candy Peraza fell to Ben Villa 2-6, 0-6 in singles play.

Doubles action had Royal's Michael Hebdon and Ben Singer defeating Matt Paul and Joe Alegria 6-1, 5-7,

6-1. The Knights' Chase Hebdon and Lucas Warren beat Chase Carpenter and Andy Aicaco 6-2, 7-3.
