Moses Lake Chiefs baseball wins one, loses one

MOSES LAKE - Moses Lakes Chiefs baseball took to the field after a nearly three-week break to take on the Eisenhower Cadets in a double header Tuesday.

Game one was a tight battle with Eisenhower winning by a score of 4-3.

The Cadets scored 4 runs on 10 hits with only one error.

The Chiefs scored 3 runs on three hits with two errors.

Chiefs pitcher Troy Stephens was charged with the loss and was replaced in the sixth inning by Blaine Meyers.

At the plate, the Chiefs' Josh Martinez went one for four, Tyler Sage one for three with an RBI, Aaron Morice one for two with an RBI, and Drew Martin hit once during three times at bat for an RBI.

By the second game the Chiefs had shaken off the rust and soundly defeated the Cadets by a score of 7-3.

Moses Lake scored 7 runs on nine hits.

Starting pitcher Drew Martin was replaced in the fifth inning by Brock Lybbert.

Chief Tyler Sage went two for four at the plate and batted in an RBI. Aaron Morice went two for four with an RBI. Dylan Signorellli went two for four, Kurt Hickman one for three with an RBI, and Matt Harris went one for three.

The Moses Lake Chiefs are 4-4 in league play and 6-8 overall on the season.

The Chiefs' next game is Friday against Wenatchee at Larson Field. The game starts at 4 p.m.

Royal City splits games with Bears

ROYAL CITY - The Royal Knights hosted the Kiona Benton Bears in a baseball double header Saturday.

The pair split the games.

In game one, the Bears won 9-3.

They scored 9 runs on four hits.

Royal's JC Christensen went two for three at the plate and batted in an RBI.

In game two, the Knight's enjoyed a 10-9 victory.

Royal scored 10 runs on 12 hits.
