Ephrata Tigers take the greens

SOAP LAKE - The Ephrata Tigers defended their territory at the Lakeview Golf & Country Club by winning two matches.

Tigers' varsity golf team shot 330 collectively against the visiting Chelan Billy Goats, who shot a 400 on April 14, according to Ephrata coach Greg Hart.

Ephrata's Austin Key held the low score of 80 with a birdie on the 12th hole and making par on eight holes out of 18.

Matt Pixlee followed him with an 83. Steven Criss scored an 85 during the match. Chase Millard shot a 91, Steven Lund a 95 and Cameron Allen rounded out the team effort with a 100.

Ephrata also outshot Grandview and Cascade teams on April 10 in Soap Lake.

The Tigers shot a combined 344 with Cascade trailing with a 375 and Grandview with a 474.

Pixlee led the team with a 79, which included a birdie on the 15th hole and making par on 11 others, according to Hart.

Criss followed with a score of 83 with a birdie on the 11th hole and making par on five holes.

Lund scored a 90. Millard shot a 92. Allen hit for a 96 and Coy Cummings scored a 98 for the match.
