Notice is hereby given that a Preliminary Plat and SEPA checklist received on February 15, 2008 from Kenneth & Daina Toevs (Designated Contact: Chris Watts, Knudsen Land Surveying, PO Box 505, 130 1st Ave. NW, Ephrata, WA 98823, 509-754-4376), were found technically complete and preliminarily appear to be consistent with Unified Development Code and other applicable state and local requirements as of April 11, 2008. PROJECT: A Preliminary Plat of 160.77 acres to create five (5) lots in the Agriculture zoning district of Grant County. STUDIES REQUIRED: None. LOCATION: Subject area is located approximately 2 miles west of Quincy, WA, near the intersection of State Highway #28 and Road U NW, and in the SW quarter of Section 15, Township 20N, Range 23E, WM, Grant County, WA (Parcels #15-0622-000, #20-1032-000, & #20-1035-000). ZONING: Agriculture. OPEN RECORD PUBLIC HEARING: Planning Commission hearing, 7:00 pm, June 4, 2008, in the Commissioners' Hearing Room of Grant County Courthouse in Ephrata, WA. At this time any person(s) may appear and provide testimony. NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS
Sealed bids, plainly marked "BID FOR E-NW Road, CRP 06-05", will be received by Grant County at the Office of the Board of County Commissioners located in the County Courthouse, P.O. Box 37, 35 C Street NW- Room 207, Ephrata, WA, 98823, until 1:30 P.M., Tuesday, April 29, 2008 and will then and there be opened and publicly read for the construction of the improvements.
All bid proposals shall be accompanied by a bid proposal deposit in cash, certified check, cashier's check, or surety bond in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the amount of such bid proposal. No conditional bid bond will be accepted. Should the successful bidder fail to enter into such contract and furnish a satisfactory performance bond within the time stated in the specifications, the bid proposal deposit shall be forfeited to Grant County.
Maps, plans and specifications may be purchased from the office of the County Engineer, 124 Enterprise St. S.E., Ephrata, WA 98823, upon payment of the amount of $25.00 (non-refundable).
Informational copies of the maps, plans and specifications are on file for inspection at the Grant County Public Works Building, 124 Enterprise St. S.E., Ephrata, WA 98823, and in various plan centers located in Washington.
The Board of County Commissioners of Grant County, Washington, reserves the right to reject any and all bids. The award or this contract, if made will be to the lowest responsible bidder.
The improvement for which bids will be received follows:
E-NW Road - CRP 06-05
This contract provides for the reconstruction of 10.36 miles of two lane county road in Grant County, WA, and includes roadway excavation, embankment compaction, drainage items, crushed surfacing base course, maintenance rock, hot mix asphalt, asphalt MC-800, asphalt HFE-150, paint striping, permanent signing, seeding and fertilizing, and other work in accordance with the plans and specifications.

NOTICE OF SCHOOL BOARD HEARING FOR INITIATIVE 728
Board of Directors of Moses Lake School District #161 of Grant County, Washington will hold a public hearing on Initiative 728 at the regular board meeting on Thursday, April 24, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. in the MLSD Board Room, 1318 W. Ivy Ave. Public comment may be taken during the hearing.
Initiative 728 was approved by the voters on the November 2, 2000 ballot. The funds from this initiative can be used for the following purposes:
- Reduce class sizes in grades K-4
- Make selected class size reductions in grades 5 - 12
- Provide extended learning for students in grades K- 12
- Provide additional professional development for edu- cators
- Provide early assistance for children who need pre- kindergarten support
- Provide improvements or additions to school facili- ties which are directly related to class size reductions and extended learning opportunities
