Viola Mae Holloway

Viola Mae Holloway, born July 5, 1917, in Haddam, Kan., died April 13, 2008, in Spokane.

Viola is survived by her sister, Fern Bahl of Independence, Mo., sons Roger K. Holloway of Tigard, Ore., and Phil J. Holloway of Spokane.

Viola had four grandchildren: Kelly K. Holloway; Kami K. Holloway; Lisa D. Laughter and Sheila M. Richard; and seven great-grandchildren, Bailey Holloway, Ainsley Holloway; Laikynn Holloway; Page Sacchi; Dakota Holloway; Skylar Holloway; and Elliott Thompson. Viola grew up in Kansas and married Troy Holloway in 1938. They moved to Moses Lake in 1951. Viola worked at WT Grants at the candy counter in the 1960s. She and Troy spent several years commercial fishing, seeing much of the Washington, Canadian and Alaskan coastlines. Together they enjoyed many great nights of Pinochle with friends. She was a member of Eastern Star. Viola was an active gardener and enjoyed the Grant County Fair, helping with floral exhibits.
