Royal performs well against Wahluke in tennis matches

WAHLUKE - Royal City Knights took on Wahluke Warriors Saturday in tennis.

In girls singles, Kelcy Jansen of Royal beat Justin Gallacci in straight sets 6-3, 6-3. In the second singles match the Knight's Breahna Weisser defeated the Warrior's Yaneli Martinez 3-6, 6-2, and 10-7.

Girls doubles saw three matches. In the first round Amber Christensen and Emily Hoelsher of Royal topped Levit Caro and Jenny Abaraca of Wahluke in straight sets 6-2, 6-2. In the second match, the Knights' Hollie Cloue and Amy Martinez played against the Warriors duo of Erica Macias and Cecilia Nevarez prevailing in straight sets 6-0, 6-2.

Wahluke's Martiza Aguilar and Cecilia Nevarez won the third set 4-7, 1-6, 6-6, over the Knights' Tonya Weber and Yuri Garcia.

In boys action, Jo Sanchez of Wahluke defeated Candy Peraza of Royal 6-2, 6-2.
