Desert Dawgs take tourney

OTHELLO - The Desert Dawgs won the Demi Memorial softball tournament in Othello last weekend by winning five of their six games.

Scorekeeper Sandy Valdez said the team won their final game against Avalon from Spokane.

The team is comprised of Jeremy Martinez, Michael Adame, Kyle Swanson, Cheny Adame, Roli Adame, Bubba Valdez, Jordon Flores, Bogi Valdez, Danny Jones and bat boy Darian Valdez.

Cheny Adame was chosen as the team's most valuable player, with Jeremy Martinez, Bubba Valdez, Bogi Valdez and Kyle Swanson named as the team's all-stars, according to Sandy Valdez.

The group is sponsored by Charlie's, Ameri-Stay, Mike's Barber, Papa's Casino.
