Girls almost break school record

ROYAL CITY - Royal City High School beat out Cle Elum High School April 8 during the first golf league match of the season.

Coach Andrew Perkins said it's the ninth year Royal City boys have won the first league match of the year at Royal City Golf Course.

Royal City boys won 338 to 401.

D.J. Solis ended play with 76 strokes, Trevor Iverson and Kyle Spartveit completed the course with 86 strokes, Erik Spartveit completed with 90 strokes, Cory Dixon made 95 strokes and Kris Rice had 105 strokes.

Perkins said the girls team completed the course with a total of 387 strokes and Cle Elum was incomplete.

He said the girls team was three strokes away from beating the school record for the course.

Lacy Goroski completed the course with 94 strokes, Alyssa Presgraves used 95 strokes, Laura Perkins came in third with 98 strokes, Shelby Forester completed the course in 100 strokes, Katreena Delay completed the course in 121 strokes and Victoria Solis took 147 strokes.

Perkins said each team did well at the course and the girls team hopes to break the school record at today's tournament.
