| April 15, 2008 9:00 PM

Program starts in June

MOSES LAKE - Volleyball players have a chance to elevate their game at the upcoming Big Bend Community College volleyball camp.

The skills development camp is for students in grades 6 through 12. It runs from June 16 through June 19 at the DeVries Activity Center on the BBCC campus. Camps sessions run from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Wednesday and there is only a morning session on Thursday.

Campers should wear athletic gear including T-shirt, shorts, athletic shoes and kneepads.

"The philosophy behind Big Bend Community College Volleyball Camps is to provide campers with a fun and educational environment where the campers can learn and develop their skills," said Viking Head Coach Michael DeHoog.

Campers receive personal instruction on individual skills and learn to apply those skills in game-like situations and drills, according to a BBCC spokesperson. The camp will be taught by the DeHoog, Assistant Coach Cari Galbreath and members of the Viking volleyball team.

Two registration options are available. The first is $80 and includes the camp and a T-shirt. The second option is $95 and includes camp, T-shirt and lunch. Registration will also be accepted at the door June 16.
