Agnes Marie Krumm

Agnes Marie Krumm, 94, longtime Moses Lake resident, passed away Thursday, April 3, 2008, at Samaritan Hospital.

Memorial services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, April 7, 2008, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church with Pastor David Daugs officiating. Private family interment preceded the services in Pioneer Memorial Gardens. Arrangements were in care of Kayser's Chapel & Crematory. Agnes was born Oct. 29, 1913, to the late Berent and Sarah (Hanson) Snuggerud in Flandreau, S.D. where she was raised and educated. She received her teaching certificate and taught school in Colman, S.D. She married Luvern (Tub) Krumm on Dec. 27, 1938, in Colman. Shortly after their marriage, Agnes began work at the Colman Post Office. They moved to Moses Lake in 1950 and worked as a clerk at the Moses Lake Post Office until her retirement in 1977. "Tub" passed away on March 24, 1978.

In 1994 Agnes moved to the Hearthstone Retirement Center where she was very active. She served in various leadership positions at Hearthstone including president of the residence council. Agnes was an active member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Moses Lake. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and teaching people how to use a knitting machine. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Shirley Krumm of Kansas City, Mo., and Jack and Rose Krumm of Moses Lake; a brother, Harlan Snuggerud of Florida; a sister, Lillian Tjarks of South Dakota; three grandchildren, Becky Yates, Debbie (Brian) Brindle and Berent (Shelby) Krumm; and three great-grandchildren, McKenzie and Kennedy Krumm and Hailey Brindle. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Sylvia Moyer and Marie Christensen; a brother, LuVern Snuggerud; and a grandson, Erich Krumm.
