| April 4, 2008 9:00 PM

Aug. 16, 1991-March 29, 2008

Julie Marie Skala was born into the family of Anatoliy and Natalya Skala. She lived in Moses Iake most of her life. As a young girl Julie Marie had a deep desire to be a missionary. In September of 2007 the Skala family sold their home in Moses Lake and moved to the Ukraine to serve as missionaries in their mother's hometown of Vapnyarka. Her mother, Natalya Skala, had desired to go back to the village where she grew up as a child and bring the gospel of Jesus Christ to her village. She did this and 20 of the villagers came to Christ. Subsequently, she felt a need to nurture these new believers. A church was born and also a work with orphaned, homeless HIV-infected children. Julie Marie and some of her siblings had spent a considerable amount of time helping in this service. Julie Marie was in the work of her desire. Saturday March 29 she was in route to the capital city of Kiev to help interpret for visitors from the United States As she was sleeping in the backseat, the car she was riding in struck another vehicle that was stopped in the middle of the road with no lights on. Her short time on this earth was completed. "Whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away." James 4:14

There will be a memorial service for Julie Marie Skala, Saturday April 5 at 4 p.m. located at: a meeting place of the Church in Moses Lake 6378 Arnold Drive, Moses Lake, WA 98837 (former Day Star Gym).
