Kids spring sports camps are ready to start in Moses Lake

Spring Break Fast Pitch Camp

Who: 1st through 8th grade

When: April 8, 9 and 10

Where: Moses Lake High School Varsity Field

Times: Noon to- 2 p.m.

Instructor: Dave Gregory, Moses Lake High School varsity coach

Cost: $30 per person

Program: Participants will be taught the basics of fast pitch softball, which includes hitting, fielding, throwing and base running.

Registration: Please pre-register before Friday at the Moses Lake Parks and Recreation Office at 401 South Balsam.

Spring Break Baseball Camp

Who: Boys 8 to 14 years old

When: April 9, 10 and 11

Where: Larson Playfield

Times: 9 a.m to noon

Instructor: Ed McNamara, Moses Lake High School varsity coach

Cost: $25 per person

Equipment: If you have your own equipment, please bring it to camp.

Program: Participants will be taught all aspects of the game of baseball.

Registration: Please pre-register before April 7 at the Moses Lake Parks and Recreation Office.

T-Ball

Ages: 5, 6, and 7 year old boys and girls (Must be 5 years old by April 30, 2008.)

Season: The week of May 5 to June 12.

Cost: $25 per child, includes T-shirt

Program: The program will consist of one practice and one game a week. The main emphasis will be on having fun and learning good sportsmanship.

Registration: Pre-registration required by April 24 at Moses Lake Parks and Recreation Office.

Location: Games and practices will be held at Cascade Park on Valley Road.

Participants will be put on a permanent team roster. Each team will be assigned one head coach.

To put this plan into action Parks and Recreation is looking for individuals who are interested in becoming involved with coaching a team.
