Alfonsa Zamora

Alfonsa Zamora was born April 2, 1913, in Fort Summer, N.M., and was called home by our Lord Sunday, March 16, 2008, at the age of 94. She was the daughter of Martin and Maria Zamora.

Alfonsa lived in Warden and Moses Lake for many years before moving to New Mexico and Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents and son, Ernesto Guriales. She is survived by her sister, Domitilia Vasquez, her daughters, Ruby Marquez, Virginia Hines, Elena Gomez, Juanita Balderas, Pilar Alvarado, her sons, Fred Balderas, Pete Balderas, Gavino Balderas, Alfredo, Balderas, Gilbert Balderas, Johnny Zamora, and Pete Balderas Jr. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Alfonsa enjoyed several activities such as sewing, listening to music and going to the casino. However, her passion was spending time with her family. She enjoyed the simple things in life. She will be greatly missed by all those who were touched by her life. She will forever be in our hearts. Visitation was held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, March 20 at Sunset Funeral Home-West, Chapel of Remembrance with a vigil was at 7 p.m. Funeral service was held at 10 a.m., Friday, March 21 at Sunset Funeral Home-West. Interment followed at Memorial Pines Cemetery. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-West.
