Loren Fitting

Loren Fitting of Moses Lake died of a heart attack on Sept. 25, 2007.

Loren is survived by his wife Wendy, his daughters Katie and Beth, and his son James. Loren is also survived by his mother Eldora Fitting and Tammy Fitting.

Loren proudly served as the principal at North Elementary School in Moses Lake. Loren was previously the principal at Larson Heights Elementary. Loren was an adjunct professor for Big Bend Community College and Heritage University. Loren was the recipient of numerous national, state, and local awards for his tireless work in education.

Loren was born in Clarkston, Wash., on April 11, 1956, to Robert and Eldora Fitting. Loren graduated from Clarkston High School in 1974. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Eastern Washington College in 1977 and his master's Degree from Whitworth College in 1978. Loren obtained his administrative credentials at Portland State University and attended Lewis and Clark College for his superintendent certificate.

Loren began his teaching career in The Dalles, Ore. He was an administrator in Rufus, Ore., and continued his career path as a principal and superintendent in Nespelem and Toutle, and a principal at Concrete, Wash., before settling in Moses Lake.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 29, at the Assembly of God Church at 431 E. Brown Ave. in Moses Lake at 2 p.m.

A scholarship fund for Loren's children can be sent to Sterling Savings.
