Warden volleyball vanquishes Wahluke for first league victory

WARDEN - Brandi Kisler and Kacey Kisler had nine kills apiece as the Warden Lady Cougars earned their first league victory on Tuesday night, knocking off the visiting Wahluke Warriors in four games.

Warden won the first game 25-20 before Wahluke evened the match with a 25-19 triumph. But the Cougars took the final two, 25-19, 25-20. Brandi Kisler added five digs for the Cougars, who improved to 2-4 overall, 1-3 in South Central Athletic Conference action.

Other contributors for Warden included Cassandra Kisler (13 assists, six aces), Emma Bisnett (five kills, two blocks) and Amanda Martinez (four aces).

Lexi Peterson had a team-high eight kills and seven assists for Wahluke. Naylea Jimenez finished with 10 assists, two aces and two blocks, while Emily Jenne had five aces and two kills.

Warden returns to the court Thursday night at 7 p.m., traveling to face the Columbia-Burbank Coyotes.

Moses Lake Christian 3, Thorp 0

MOSES LAKE - Esther Timofeyev had 16 kills and three blocks as the Lady Lions eased past the visiting Tigers 25-8, 25-17, 25-20.

Heidi Sandberg had 10 kills, two blocks and five aces for Moses Lake Christian, and Ashley Cole distributed 25 assists in the victory.

Moses Lake Christian heads to Pateros on Thursday at 7 p.m. for a North Central Washington League contest.

Grandview 3, Ephrata 0

EPHRATA - The Lady Tigers had a difficult night against the Greyhounds, a 2A state trophy-winning team in 2006, losing 25-16, 25-9, 25-12.

Britney Ratigan led Ephrata with 10 kills and 11 digs. Briana Moser added three kills and four blocks. BreAnne Duff went 8 for 8 from the service line with an ace, chipping in five digs, seven assists and two blocks.

The Tigers finish up a three-game homestand Thursday night, hosting Central Washington Athletic Conference foe East Valley-Yakima at 7 p.m.
