Youngsters welcome at Great Pumpkin Race

MOSES LAKE - Students in kindergarten through sixth grade are invited to participate in the Great Pumpkin Race on Friday, Oct. 19, at Blue Heron Park.

Kindergartners will run a 600-meter race beginning at 4:15 p.m. First and second grades will follow in an 800-meter race at 4:30 p.m., with third and fourth grades running a 1,200-meter race at 4:45 p.m., and fifth and sixth grades going 1,600 meters at 5:30 p.m. All ages are welcome to race in a 5,000-meter event at 5:30 p.m.

Early registration costs are $5 per child and must be received by Oct. 15. Registration on the day of the race is $7 per child. Each runner will receive a certificate. All pre-registered runners get a pumpkin, and all 5K participants get an orange ribbon.
