Mrs. Ruth Mary Dormaier (DeVries)
On Sept. 20, 2007, Ruth went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Ruth was born June 18, 1928, to Harry Andrew and Anna Marie (Duffin) DeVries in Leavenworth, Wash., and was raised in Portland, Ore.
Ruth married her love, Lourence Dormaier, in Portland, Ore., Jan. 26, 1946. The service was officiated by her father, Reverend Harry A. DeVries. They made their first home in Hartline, Wash., after Lourence was discharged from the service. After Hartline they farmed for many years in Wilson Creek and then moved to Moses Lake in 1974.
Ruth was faithful to her calling, a ministry of prayer. Her heart's desire was for everyone she met to know the love and saving grace of Jesus Christ. Ruth had a joyous spirit, always extended an open door, and was a gracious hostess whose love language was often expressed in her famous pies and the extra plates at the table. Ruth was a loving, dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her husband, Lourence Dormaier, and six children, Sherril Dormaier of Moses Lake, Larry (Pam) Dormaier of Deer Park, Andy (Connie) Dormaier of Ephrata, Gwyn (Scot) Burden of Mead, Lynnell (Verne) Wold of Mead, D'Arcy (Jane) Dormaier of Portland, Ore., two sisters, Pearl (Harold) Wold, Jean Walker, and brother Ted (Erma) DeVries, all of Portland Ore., and Ken DeVries of Pahrump Nev.; 16 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and true friends.
