Lorene Campbell

Lorene Campbell, 87, lifelong Warden resident, passed away at her home on Friday, Sept. 21, 2007. Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 26, at the Warden Community Church with Pastor John Wallace officiating. Viewing will be held from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 25, at Kayser's Chapel of Memories. Arrangements are in care of Kayser's Chapel of Memories, Moses Lake.

Lorene was born Dec. 4, 1919, in Warden to Phillip and Ottilie (Rauter) Herrmann. Lorene married Claude E. Campbell on March 17, 1939.

She loved being a farmer's wife and drove combines, wheat trucks, cooked harvest meals and helped with the roundup of the cattle. She loved visiting with people, playing cards and having fun talks with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed golf and was an avid Mariners fan. Lorene went south in the winter for the last 34 years. She had many wonderful, long lasting friendships in California. Lorene also had many friends and appreciated the good care she received at the Monroe House in Moses Lake.

She was a member of the Warden Community Church, Grant County Cattleman's Association, Warden golf course, Red Hat Ladies, and the Washington Wheat Grower's Association.

Lorene is survived by one daughter, Sharon Briney, Othello; two sons, Doug Campbell, Warden and Dean Campbell, Moses Lake; nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Campbell; one sister, Viola Michel; and her parents, Phillip and Ottilie Herrmann.
