Betty May (Gale) Grigg went to be with her Heavenly Father on Sept. 22, 2007, while at home surrounded by family. Graveside services will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Ontario, Ore., on Thursday, Sept. 27, at 1 p.m., MST. Contrary to the viewing time announced in yesterday's death notice, viewing will only take place at the cemetery. Arrangements are in care of Kayser's Chapel of Memories, Moses Lake.

She was born on April 27, 1925, in Kuna, Idaho to Martin and Mary Gale. She was one of six children; she had four sisters and one brother. She spent most of her childhood in eastern Oregon and graduated from Harper high school in 1943. After that she went to work in the Portland shipyards as a welder, but returned to Harper a year later to be with the love of her life, Donald A. Grigg.

Don and Betty were married on Dec. 11, 1944, in Nampa, Idaho. Their marriage was later sealed in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Temple in Idaho Falls. They settled in Harper where they raised their family. They had five sons, Gary, Steven, Allen, and twins, Morris and Martin, however Martin was stillborn. Betty was a devoted wife and mother. Her life's work was raising her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was so full of love for them and everyone loved going to grandma's house. She was always cooking special meals and treats or taking care of one of the kids. She will be greatly missed.
