Jose Guilherme

Jose Guilherme, 87, longtime Moses Lake resident, passed away Friday, Sept. 21, 2007, at home. Holy Rosary will be prayed at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25, at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Moses Lake followed by Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Father Felipe Pulido. Interment will follow at the Ephrata Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements are in care of Kayser's Chapel & Crematory.

Jose was born on July 10, 1920, in Terceira, Azores, to Joao and Rosa de Jesus Guilherme.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, John and Ana Guilherme of Moses Lake; a grandson Jason of Moses Lake; two granddaughters, Roseanna and Shane Sales of Farmington, Missouri and Angela and Rich Bottalico of Kingston, Wash.; a great-granddaughter, Ella Ana Bottalico of Kingston; a sister, Angelina Nunes of Terceira; a sister-in-law Josefa Teixeira; a brother-in-law, Antonio Nunes and a sister-in-law Maria de Fatima da Silva, all of Terceira; along with numerous nieces and nephews in California, Canada and Portugal.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Maria and son, Jose.

Jose had a great love for his family. He spoke of them constantly and enjoyed sharing in their accomplishments. He was especially proud of his grandchildren and new great-granddaughter.

His neighbors and the "block 40" community will miss him and the care he gave to his garden and flowers for all to enjoy.
