Second arrest related to victim

GRAND COULEE - A former Grand Coulee School District middle school teacher was arrested Friday night for allegedly stalking a victim from a previous arrest.

Vern E. Heizer, 50, Nespelem, was arrested for stalking and violating a protection order.

In mid-July Heizer was arrested for communicating with a minor for immoral purposes, rape of a child in the second degree, rape of a child in the third degree and child molestation in the third degree.

Once Heizer made bail at the Okanogan County Jail, the Okanogan County Sheriff's Office received information he was stalking the victim from the previous arrest.

"Heizer had been seen several times in the area of the victim's residence and at school by several different subjects," stated Okanogan County Sheriff Frank Rogers.

Heizer's bail is set at $100,000.

Okanogan County detectives were investigating him several months before the first arrest.
